Jugo de Carambola - Carambola Juice

Un refrescante jugo de Carambola queda perfecto cuando los días empiezan a calentar un poco. Esta fruta exótica de sabor agridulce, es rica en vitamina C. Tiene una forma algo caprichosa ya que al cortarla se asemeja a una estrella de cinco puntas, ideal para decorar los postres!

A refreshing "Carambola" (also know as Star Fruit) juice is perfect when the days begin to warm up a bit. This bittersweet exotic fruit, is rich in vitamin C. It has a special shape because when you cut it, it's like a star, ideal for decorating desserts!

Super fácil de hacer, lavar bien la fruta, cortarla en trozos licuarla con un poco de agua y azucar al gusto, colar y listo! 

Easy to do, wash the fruit, cut into pieces blend together with a little water and sugar to taste, strain and voila!

Detalle romántico - Romantic detail

Una gran sorpresa tocó a mi puerta hace unos días, unas encantadoras rosas, me las enviaba mi querido esposo. A big surprise came to my door a few days ago, some lovely roses, my dear hubby sent them to me.

No es necesario que sea una fecha especial, sino ser espontáneos. Detalles como estos son los que te hacen sentir que eres especial! It is not necessary that it is a special date, only to be spontaneous.  Details like these are those that make you feel that you are special!

Muy bonito.... Very pretty!!!

No pude resistirme a tomarle una foto a este arreglo que decoraba el lobby de un hotel, muy alegre y llamativo, como para calentar un poco el ambiente, ya que la Primavera todavía no se manifiesta, todavía seguimos teniendo días fríos!!

I could not resist to take a photo of this arrangement that is in a hotel lobby, very cheerful and appealing to warm the atmosphere, because the Spring has not yet  manifested, we still have cold days!

El Señor de los Milagros - The Lord of Miracles

Hoy sale en multitudinaria procesión por las calles del Centro de Lima, la venerada imagen del Señor de los Milagros.Today comes out in huge procession through the streets of downtown Lima, the revered image of  "The Lord of Miracles".

La tradición se inicia hace muchos años (1651) cuando un esclavo pintó una imagen de Cristo crucificado sobre una pared, que después del terremoto de 1655 fue lo único que quedó en pie. Así empezó la devoción. 

The tradition started many years ago (1651), when a slave painted a imagen of Christ crucified on a wall, after the earthquake of 1655 was the only thing left standing. This began the devotion.

Cada Octubre Lima se viste de morado y el anda sale cargada en hombros por los miembros de la Hermandad del Señor de los Milagros, en procesión por las calles del centro. Every October Lima wears purple and the Lord is carried by a group of men of the Brotherhood in procession through the streets of the downtown.

Condimenteros Reciclados - Spice Bottles Recycled

Un proyecto super fácil para este Sábado Rosa, condimenteros hechos con frascos reciclados de café. This's an easy craft proyect for this Pink Saturday, spice bottles made by recycled coffee jars.

1. Lavar bien los frascos, quitarles las etiquetas con detergente y un poco de alcohol. Pintar las tapas de color blanco. Wash the jars, remove tags with detergent and a little alcohol. Paint the caps in white.

2. Buscar algunas cintas y flores de tela que les guste. Find some fabric flowers and  ribbons you like.

3. Utilizar silicona caliente para pegar las cintas y flores alrededor de los frascos. Use hot glue to stick the ribbons and flowers around the jars.

Si bueno, es cierto que pasamos gran cantidad de tiempo en ella, preparando delicias para nuestra familia y nuestros amigos; en ella nos transformamos en un gran chef, creando a veces, los más sorprendentes potajes con lo que se tiene a mano.

Well, is true that we spend a lot of time in the kitchen, making something delicious for our family and friends; in it we become a great chef, sometimes creating the most amazing dishes with what you have on hand.

Les invito a conocer mi pequeña cocina. I invite you to meet my little kitchen.

Este es un lado de la cocina, los muebles son blancos, he ido añadiendo algunos detalles románticos para hacerla más cálida. This is one side of the kitchen, the furniture is white, I added some details to make it warm romantic.

Este es un posa olla, que pinté lleno de rositas moradas y rosadas, y está cubierto con una capa de resina para poder limpiarlo fácilmente. This is a pot rest, I painted full of purple and pink roses, and is covered with a resin coating for easy cleaning.

Los regalos de la naturaleza, he puesto algunas frutas sobre el refrigerador. The gifts of nature, I have some fruit on the top of refrigerator.

Este es el otro lado de la cocina, donde he puesto una mesa, ya que todavía falta hacer un mueble y algunas repisas. This is the other side of the kitchen, where I have a table, I still need to do a cabinet and some shelves.

Estos son mis nuevos condimenteros que hice reciclando frascos de café. These are my new spice bottles made by recycling coffee jars.
