This is the Surquillo Market No.1, perhaps one of the favorite of peruvian chefs. In it we find a great variety of products.

If you want to prepare a special dinner,  and you are looking for a special ingredient, definitely you will find it here.

This is one of the vegetables stalls, different kinds of pumpkins, onions and potatoes.

The fruit stand, sure to please the most demanding palates.

Condimentos exóticos, miren esas aceitunas cuanto tiempo les habrá tomado ordenarlas perfectamente. Exotic spices, look at those olives, how much time expend to put them in those containers.

An obligatory stop, the dried fruit, pecans, almots......

Feliz compras! Happy shopping!

  2. Charo, First of all, thank you for sharing my giveaway on your sidebar!
I'm so glad you found my blog and introduced yourself! Your pictures of the market are so wonderful! I feel like I'm right there!! I lived in South America when I was a girl (Sao Paulo, Brasil) and visited Lima twice. I have many good memories of pulling our little shopping cart to the street market each week, filling it with fresh fruit, vegetables and eggs hearing the vendors call out and munching on samples they gave you to convince you to buy from them instead of the next guy down. So many good memories from those amazing and wonderful years!
